Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's Design team at their site based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

Candidates MUST have experience designing and developing a wide range of robot auxiliary axis solutions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and systems on our client's wide range of robot auxiliary axis solutions.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you must be competent in generating CAD drawings for bespoke special suppose machinery. You will also have an in-depth understanding of technical drawings and engineering processes, as well as a keen eye for detail in technical administration.

Strong CAD skills in 3D modelling software is essential.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using Solidworks, CATIA, and other relevant software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements
• Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to validate design concepts
• Generate detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
• Participate in design reviews and provide input for continuous improvement

Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or related role
• Proficiency in Solidworks, CATIA, and other design software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively

Mechanical Design Engineer Day-to-Day:

• Collaborating with other engineers and cross-functional teams to brainstorm design concepts
• Creating 3D models and detailed drawings using Solidworks and CATIA
• Conducting analysis and simulations to validate design performance
• Participating in design reviews and presenting design concepts to stakeholders
• Communicating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure design manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
