Rate: Up to £30.00 per hour (Ltd Co)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

A leading high-technology Electronics Manufacturer who are a specialist supplier into the Aerospace and Defence sectors are looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in to their business on an initial six month contract. This is an exciting time to join a leading Company who are experiencing significant growth.

Based in Northampton, the Manufacturing Engineer will be contracted on an initial 6 month contract, but there is a good chance that this will be extended. You should have a strong background in electronic circuits, SMT and PCB Assembly processes. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be required to ensure that electronic products are built in the most efficient manner with a range of modern tools.

Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics Requirements:

* You should have a relevant degree or equivalent qualifications
* The Manufacturing Engineer should possess a strong working knowledge of electronic assembly and processes including IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001
* Strong capability in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* High level of competency in use of MRP and ERP systems (including use of SAP)
* Project management experience in a technical discipline
* A change agent, with high level understanding of modern electronic circuit card and/or system assembly techniques
* Proven track record in a related Manufacture Engineering role within a dynamic manufacturing environment (an influencer and motivator of others)
* Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills across all levels (written & oral)

Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics Responsibilities:

* Ensure all products can be manufactured in a quality assured; reliable; scaleable; and repeatable manner (removing process variability and risk).Prepare production routings / procedures and ensure accuracy to build
* Design, deployment and ownership of manufacture equipment & tooling
* A stakeholder of the ECR and MRB process (review and agree impact statements and disposition)
* Support 'in-process' CI activity across the full product development and manufacture life-cycle
* Perform analysis of manufacturing defects / process failures to determine root cause & develop corrective actions
* An interface between the Engineering and Manufacture functions to develop and introduce new, or enhance existing manufacture solutions / processes
* Attend NPI and design reviews; provide product / manufacture development recommendations for new, existing and emerging products and technologies (ensure NPIs are released to time and budget)
* Conduct DFMEA / PFMEA reviews with respect to new / existing products, manufacture and technology deployment
