Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Fitter

Salary & Benefits: Up to £26,000, depending upon experience + Bonus plus Benefits package

Location: Borehamwood

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Fitter to join a leading Laboratory Technology Company involved in the Designing of Laboratory/Experiment Equipment in the R&D Department. Operating internationally, this Company specialises in research and pre-pilot scale chemical reactors and systems. Providing both automated and manual tools for process R&D to clients in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and petrochemical industries, as well as in academia.

The company has grown to include a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers working with Chemists and Chemical Engineers from our fully equipped testing facility in the UK.

Electro-Mechanical Fitter Requirements:

* Experience assembling electro-mechanical assemblies
* Experience using assembly hand tools (Socket sets, screw/torx drivers, spanners, drills etc)
* Experience testing electro-mechanical laboratory equipment or similar advanced assemblies would be an advantage
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) email and use of the Internet
* Strong commitment to quality
* Fluency in written & spoken English
* Strong assembly skills
* Experience using small scale machine shop equipment (drill press, lathe, mill, bandsaws, etc)
* Experience of hydraulic/pneumatic system assembly & testing (hard and flexible line) is preferred
* Experience of Swagelok/DK-lok/Fitok pressure fittings or similar is ideal
* Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and to tight deadlines
* Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Ability to be flexible in work schedule and accommodate unexpected work changes
* Driving Licence

Electro-Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:

* Carry out build of the system, in line with agreed schedule to ensure on time delivery of project.
* Integrate and test company Instruments
* Following standard operating procedures and testing protocols
* Confirm Project requirements with the Project Manager and agree strategy so that any potential issues can be pre-empted and decisions made on the best solutions
* Review stock requirements for each project and work with Purchasing & Stock Manager, to ensure on time delivery of materials for the project
* Attend Project Kick Off Meeting and work with Project Manager to understand the scope of the project
* Provide feedback for quality and continuous improvement system
* Clean, pack and assist in shipping of the finished system
* Maintenance and upkeep of Mechanical Workshop, tools and consumables
* Work with Purchasing & Stock Manager to ensure optimal mechanical stock levels are maintained
* Deputise/cover for other Mechanical Engineers as and when required
* Take part in client site visits as and when required
* Positively contribute to the efficient working of the Mechanical and wider Project teams
* Cooperate and effectively work with other staff to achieve high levels of employee satisfaction
