Are you a Controls Engineer with a passion for generating new ideas, concept design and working through the full life cycle? Are you interested in working on bespoke industrial machinery where you have a great deal of autonomy and influence on product development?

If so, keep on reading! This world leader of manufacturing machinery is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team of multi-disciplined engineers to develop both current and future equipment.

The machines are partly mechanical and often contain: motor drive components, an induction heating stage, a water quenching or cooling stage and an overall control system.

Controls Engineer Requirements:
PLC programming experience (Siemens S7 or Allan Bradley)
TIA Portal experience is also essential
Experience of manufacturing industry Automation
Knowledge of SCADA and HMI and motor drive programming would be an advantage.
HND or Degree level in control/electrical/electronic or related engineering subjects.
Previous use of electrical CAD software packages (AutoCAD / E-Plan / Promis-E are all acceptable) or a similar software for circuit design package is desirable
A good level of practical ability is desirable
Good general PC skills including all MS Office packages desirable
A general knowledge of mechanical engineering would be useful
Flexibility to undertake international travel from time to time
Previous experience in a controls & software design position and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems would be very useful
You must be technically motivated with a broad engineering knowledge
As Controls Engineer, you will have a number of years' experience in a manufacturing industry designing special purpose control systems for machines or capital equipment
You will be well-organised and able to communicate effectively with customers and senior management, both internal and external
Suitable candidates for this role are likely to hold the job title, PLC Programmer, Automation Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer
