Job Role: Manual Machinist

Location: Slough

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3 months initially - potential to join permanently

Pay: £20ph PAYE

Shift - Double Days

Early day shift - Monday to Thursday 05:55 to 13:15 and Friday 05:55 to 13:25, with 20 minutes lunch break each day.

Late day shift - Monday to Thursday 13:10 to 20:35 and Friday 13:10 to 20:30, with 20 minutes lunch break each day.

Role Overview

The position involves producing precision components using a range of automated and manual machining equipment. You will follow technical specifications and engineering documentation to deliver high-quality parts for internal assembly teams or external clients.

Manual Machinist Key Responsibilities

  • Manual Machining of bespoke part using manual mills & laths
  • Set up and run various CNC and conventional equipment-including turning, milling, multi-axis, and grinding machinery-to manufacture parts accurately and efficiently.

  • Load and prepare raw materials, ensuring all tools, fixtures, and programs are correctly configured before machining.

  • Inspect completed components to confirm conformity with technical standards and dimensional requirements before progressing to the next stage of production.

  • Carry out measurement and validation using precision tools and coordinate measuring equipment (CMM).

Manual Machinist Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with CNC or manual machining processes such as milling, turning, or grinding.

  • Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and expand technical skills in a production environment.

  • Engineering training, an apprenticeship, or proven machining experience is highly beneficial
